Hiking in Southern Carpathians
We were a big group of people who decide to go for a week holiday/hiking in Rumania. We came in contact with Costin thru a friend of mine here in Sweden.
Not all in the group wanted to hike, so we asked Costin if it was possible to make two programs. “No problem at all, I will arrange it for you” he said.
Everything from accommodation to our dinners he had arranged was perfect. We got to see some traditional dances and music performance, and we also tried traditional food.
Unfortunately the weather was not with us when climbing Negoiu Peak so visibility was limited but it was great days of hiking anyway. We saw the beautiful scenery through the clouds occasionally.
Rumania is certainly well worth a visit. The country has an impressive history and Costin and his companion George were telling us about it with great passion and knowledge. There were some long transportation a couple of days and Costin took the opportunity to talk about places we pass and Rumanian history in general, and even his own views on things, which was nice. Otherwise it can get pretty boring in a bus.
Some of us have talked about to go back some time in the future and visit other parts of Rumania and if that be the case we undoubtedly will contact Costin and Carpathian – Adventures again.
We often talk about the trip despite tough hiking, and it´s surely a sign that the trip was memorable.
Thank you Costin and Carpathian Adventures.
